This privacy policy applies to the use of the mobile matching app („App“) by end users within the European Union, particularly in Germany. The operator of the app is Karim Belkacem, Lilienthalstraße 38, 93049 Regensburg, Germany, info@sb-techworks.de.

1. General Information on Data Processing

We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. The use of our app is generally possible without providing personal data. Where data is processed, this is done solely in accordance with applicable data protection laws, particularly the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

3. Data Collection and Processing

a) Firebase Auth (Anonymous Sign-In)

To secure app functionalities, we use Firebase Authentication by Google (Google Ireland Ltd., Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Authentication is performed anonymously; no personal identifiers such as name or email address are collected or stored.

Collected data:

• A randomly generated Firebase user ID (pseudonymized)
• Timestamp of login

b) Google Cloud Functions & Firestore

To operate the matching function, we use Google Cloud Functions and Google Firestore, hosted in the EU. The following data is temporarily stored:

• Hashes of the content selected by the user (e.g., interests)
• A session token provided by the user („match_token“)
• Timestamp of data transmission

These hashes cannot be used to identify individuals. They are not linked to personal information. The data is automatically deleted after a maximum of [10 minutes / X hours].

4. Purpose of Processing

The data is processed exclusively to match user preferences („matching“). No profiling, tracking, advertising, or data sales occur.

5. Legal Basis

Processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests), in order to provide the matching functionality of the app.

6. Data Transfers to Third Countries

Services like Firebase and Google Cloud are operated by Google Ireland Ltd. Data processing takes place in data centers located within the European Union. No data is transferred to the USA, as no personal data is stored.

7. Storage Duration

Hash data and match information are automatically deleted after a maximum of [e.g., 10 minutes]. No permanent storage takes place.

8. Camera Access (QR Code Scanner)

Our app uses your device’s camera exclusively for scanning QR codes. The camera feed is processed locally on the device only. No image data is stored, transmitted to our servers, or shared with third parties.

Camera access requires your explicit permission via the operating system’s permission dialog (e.g., Android or iOS). Without this consent, the QR code scan function cannot be used.

9. Rights of Data Subjects

You have the following rights under GDPR:

• Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR)
• Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
• Right to erasure („right to be forgotten“) (Art. 17 GDPR)
• Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
• Right to object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)

Since no personal data is stored, these rights can only be exercised to a very limited extent in practice.
